Exploring Potsdam’s Sanssouci Palace and Gardens from the BELLEVUE Apartment in Berlin.

When staying in Berlin’s BELLEVUE neighborhood, there’s no shortage of things to see and do. But for those looking to explore beyond the city limits, there’s one destination that should be at the top of your list: the Sanssouci Palace and Gardens in Potsdam. Rococo architecture and meticulously landscaped gardens, Sanssouci is a true masterpiece of design and a must-see for any traveler to the region. And the best part? It’s just a short journey from the BELLEVUE apartment. Discover why it’s one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe.

On a sunny Sunday morning, we set out from our apartment in Berlin’s BELLEVUE neighborhood to explore one of the city’s most beautiful nearby destinations: the Sanssouci Palace and Gardens in Potsdam.

Located just a short journey from the BELLEVUE apartment, the palace and gardens are a stunning example of the Rococo style of architecture and landscaping. To reach Potsdam, we took the S-Bahn from the nearby Bellevue station, which was just a few minutes’ walk from our apartment.

Once we arrived in Potsdam (S Potsdam Hauptbahnhof, 33 min), we headed straight for the palace and gardens (20 min by foot or BUS: 695, 614). We were immediately struck by the grandeur of the palace, which was once the summer home of King Frederick the Great of Prussia. With its ornate facade and elegant gardens, it’s easy to see why Sanssouci is considered one of the most beautiful palaces in Europe.

We started our tour by exploring the gardens, which are a stunning example of the Rococo style of landscaping. With their carefully manicured lawns, perfectly placed trees and fountains, and winding pathways, the gardens are a true masterpiece of design.

As we made our way through the gardens, we came across several of Sanssouci’s most famous landmarks, including the Chinese Tea House, the New Palace, and the Orangery Palace. Each building was more impressive than the last, and we were struck by the incredible attention to detail that went into their design.

After exploring the gardens, we headed inside the palace itself. The interior of Sanssouci is just as impressive as its exterior, with ornate decorations, elegant furniture, and stunning artwork lining the halls.

Overall, our trip to Sanssouci Palace and Gardens was a highlight of our time in Berlin. It’s hard to believe that such a stunning destination is just a short journey from the BELLEVUE apartment, and we highly recommend making the trip to Potsdam to experience this incredible palace and gardens for yourself.
