One of the most exciting events on Berlin’s calendar is the annual Carnival of Cultures, held each year in the vibrant Kreuzberg neighborhood. So on a sunny Sunday morning, we set out from our apartment in the BELLEVUE neighborhood to experience this colorful and exciting celebration for ourselves.

To get to Kreuzberg (21 min), we took the S-Bahn from the nearby Bellevue station to S Jannowitzbrücke (and then U8 to U Kottbusser Tor). We arrived in Kreuzberg around 10 am, and the streets were already beginning to fill up with revelers and performers from all over the world.

As we made our way through the crowds, we were struck by the incredible diversity of cultures represented at the carnival. From African drumming to Brazilian samba, there was something for everyone at this vibrant event.

We spent the day exploring the various stages and performances throughout the neighborhood, taking in the colorful costumes and infectious rhythms. We also sampled some of the delicious food on offer, with vendors selling everything from spicy Indian curries to sweet Brazilian treats.

One of the highlights of the day was the street parade, which wound its way through the streets of Kreuzberg with a riot of color and sound. We joined the throngs of people following the procession, dancing and singing along with the performers.

Overall, our trip to the Carnival of Cultures was an unforgettable experience. It was amazing to see so many different cultures coming together to celebrate and share their traditions, and we felt lucky to be able to experience it all from our home base in the BELLEVUE apartment. We highly recommend making the journey to Kreuzberg for this incredible event.
